Fellowship & Outreach

About Our Pastor & Evangelist

Eternity Now Fellowship and its outreach are headed by pastor, evangelist, and nationally award-winning media professional Kyle Huckins, who has taught faith and mass communication in higher education as well as preaching and teaching in the church. His ministry has spread from coast to coast and border to border, from small neighborhood congregations to international meetings. He has been ordained clergy since 2003 and in professional media starting in 1989.

The Texas Panhandle has been his spiritual home since he started at West Texas State University in 1986. He first worked full-time and preached in Amarillo. "I loved it here from the beginning," Huckins says. "The people are friendly and straightforward, land beautiful and at times challenging, and there is surprising diversity in both those."

Huckins has been honored 25 times by such groups as the Evangelical Press Association, Religion News Association, Society of Professional Journalists and Amy Foundation for his professional media work. He has received three awards for his scholarship, too, which has appeared in The Social Science Journal and Journal of Media and Religion, among other publications. He's written a pair of books, the latest winning a national eLit Award for best religion work and an Indiana Society of Professional Journalists honor for best nonfiction book.

A passionate believer in fostering biblically based diversity, Huckins has worked in media, academia and the church to enable equal opportunity and input for those of every color. Originally ordained by a onetime Southern Baptist mission, he has filled the pulpit for more than 70 congregations of 20+ Christian denominations and movements and with memberships mainly Caucasian, Latino, Native and African-American.

His teaching has spanned theology, apologetics, world religions, homiletics, evangelism, journalism, mass communication, public relations, marketing, speech, and more. He's led student media with his undergraduates winning several dozen awards for excellence, many national or regional. The professor has a strong record of placing college graduates in jobs, at 95% coming in at three times the U.S. average.

In considering Huckins' scholarly focus, he's published several academic articles on the intersection of faith and media and been active in national and regional scholarly associations. He is past head of the Religion and Media Interest Group of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (at 3,400 members the largest organization of media scholars globally). He also recently completed a highly successful term heading theCommission on the Status of Minorities, the association's racial diversity advocacy arm.

Pastor Huckins enjoys preaching on evangelism, discipleship, biblical inerrancy, the Lord's love and God's rest, among other subjects. He makes messages practical yet theologically sound. He's been an invited speaker at national and worldwide gatherings and been dean of an ordination & licensure school, chaplain, and in leadership of local congregations, among other offices. He holds a master's degree of theological studies from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary plus a bachelor's from West Texas A&M University, master's from Baylor University, and doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin. You can see

His life passage is Hebrews 4:8-11: "If Joshua had given them rest, then the Lord would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God, for he who has entered the Lord's rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest."

"Many are fearful, despairing, wondering if this or that will happen," Huckins explains. "However, God has promised to protect, guide and bless His own. When we trust Him and His Word and keep our minds centered on Him, we are at rest and please Him." If wanting to begin a journey of faith, you can see how to become a believer.
